 Tragic Loss: Rapper Chris King, Close to Bieber and Redd, Fatally Shot in Nashville

The rap icon Chris King, known for his close bond with Justin Bieber and collaborations with Trippie Redd, tragically lost his life in the early hours of Saturday morning in Nashville, as confirmed by authorities. He was 32 years old.

Born Christopher Cheeks, the esteemed artist found himself in an alleyway between Hayes and Church streets in Nashville around 2:30 a.m., accompanied by a 29-year-old companion (whose identity remains undisclosed). According to the Nashville police, the duo encountered three assailants attempting a robbery. In the ensuing altercation, both King and his companion suffered gunshot wounds, with the latter surviving the ordeal.

King was discovered in the parking garage of the nearby Hayes Street Hotel and swiftly transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center, where he sadly succumbed to his injuries.


In the wake of this tragedy, Justin Bieber, once King's roommate, shared a poignant photo of the pair on Instagram, expressing his grief: "Love you bro. This one hurts. Please keep his family in your prayers. See you in paradise, brother."

Trippie Redd, likewise devastated by the loss, poured out his emotions on social media, lamenting, "I am so hurt rn I can’t even think I love you bro come back!!!!! I can’t catch a break.” He further emphasized King's profound influence on his life and career, stating, "I would not be where I am today without @whoischrisking. He had the best energy always he had so many friends and it shows I love you guys for supporting one of my best friends ever my brother."

Chris King, throughout his illustrious career spanning over a decade, released an impressive array of mixtapes and LPs, notably the enduring "Luck of the Snotty" series. His latest single, "Seeing Double Seeing Double," was unveiled on April 8th.
